There and Back Again came about because I love to write and love to travel, so what better 2011 project could I have than a travel blog? I’ll be talking about everywhere interesting we go and the places and things we see while we’re there. Our family lives in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so we often travel in the upper Midwest, but have grand plans to go lots more places too. The only problem is making arrangements for our animals, which include two dogs, three cats, and an ever-changing number of chickens, but we couldn’t give any of them up!
Here’s a little bit about each of the main characters (a.k.a. family members) you’ll be hearing about as we travel.
I’m a freelance writer and editor in the U.P. of Michigan, and haven’t traveled nearly as extensively as I would like to, but we’re working on that. My fiance, Sam, and I, also have another personal blog where we talk about everything from professional writing to video games, here.
Also a freelance writer and editor, Sam was born and raised in the U.P., but has been to almost every state in the U.S. He even lived in Alaska for awhile. He edits Upper Peninsula Second Wave and can usually be found working like crazy on that or one of many other projects.
Sam’s daughter is nine years old, for a little while yet, and is already showing off quite the blogging skills herself here, where she talks about chicken wings, one of her favorite foods. Not surprisingly, some of her other favorite things are writing, drawing, and exploring new places.
